Westpunt lies at the far end of the island, among the finest bays on Curaçao. There is hardly any public transport and a taxi there and back is expensive. With a rental car you are free — and we bring it all the way out there.

Why you really do need a car in Westpunt
In Willemstad you can still get by on taxis. Not here. The supermarket is a drive, the restaurant is a drive, and today's beach is a different beach from tomorrow's. Without your own transport you are stuck with one bay and one menu.

On the road to the west
The roads in Bandabou
The main road to Westpunt is well surfaced. The last few hundred metres to some bays are unpaved; driving slowly is enough, you usually do not need a 4x4.
Fill up before you set off
There are only a couple of petrol stations between Willemstad and Westpunt, and they close early. Set off with a full tank and you need not think about it again.
Bring food and water
The smaller bays have no shops and sometimes no beach bar. The cool box we include free of charge is not a luxury here, just practical.

Great choice if you want to rent a car. Nice people, good cars (not your small wheeled dinky toys), excellent communication. No rental deposit, and you can even pick up or drop off the car at the airport, a 5 mins procedure. They even threw in two packages of peanuts and bottles cooled water. Will be our next choice no doubt

Renting a car is an absolute must to fully explore the beautiful beaches and hidden gems of Curaçao, and Blue Heaven Car Rental made the entire process completely stress-free. Highly recommend this car rental service. It was the most hassle free experience. Sandor delivered the car to our resort 15 minutes after we checked in. Car was clean and included a cooler. They also gifted us with a bag of waters and snacks. Such a personal touch.

Wonderful departure from traditional, corporate car rental companies! We just got back from our first trip to Curaçao (which was amazing), and BlueHaven made the process the most seamless of any car rental experience we’ve ever had.We made the reservation via WhatsApp, and Marjolein answered every question I had with great detail. We completed the reservation paperwork via PDF/email, and she had everything ready in advance.A few days before our trip, she confirmed our flight numbers and let us know they would be monitoring for any delays and would be nearby when we landed. Since we didn’t have any checked bags, we cleared customs and sent a quick WhatsApp message as we passed baggage claim.Within seconds, we received a message that Sandor would be right outside the arrivals hall. The message even included the car’s plate number, which was a nice touch.Not even 2 to 3 minutes later, Sandor pulled up in an immaculately clean SUV, the exact one discussed during the WhatsApp booking. It looked brand new and was clearly well taken care of, not your typical beat up rental car.He was great. He made sure all our questions were answered and even confirmed we had a USB cable for CarPlay. When we got in the car, there were cold waters and a bag of treats waiting for us!The car performed perfectly the entire week. I have no doubt that if we had any issues, we could have reached them at any time.When it came time to leave, we arranged a pickup time the day before, and Sandor once again met us right in front of the airport. We actually arrived a bit earlier than planned and gave them a heads up.
